- An applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu.
- Candidate should have studied from class 1 to 8.
- The candidates who will enroll themselves as volunteers will have to teach from class 1 to 5.

- Candidates teaching class 6 to 8 should have completed graduation.
