Objectives of TN UYEGP Scheme
The main objective of the UYEGP Scheme is to provide loans and subsidies for businesses to the low-income citizens of the state. Through this scheme, unemployment will be reduced among the socially and economically deprived sections of the population, especially among the educated and unemployed. This will enable all the beneficiary citizens of the state to become self-employed with the help of service, manufacturing and business enterprises. Benefits and Features of UYEGP Scheme 2024
- Through Tamil Nadu UYEGP Scheme, a sponsorship contribution of 10% for general and 5% for special category schemes will be given to reduce the unemployment difficulties of the economically and socially deprived sections of the population.
- Individual-based capital subsidy @ 25% of the project cost through this scheme, subject to a maximum project cost of Rs 15,00,000. 50,000, and Rs. Individual-based capital subsidy of 25% of the project cost @ Rs.500,000 will be provided by the Government.
- The interest rate offered through this scheme is given by RBI guidelines for district-level selection of beneficiaries to enable greater participation from each district.

Eligibility for UYEGP Scheme
- The entrepreneur wishing to avail the benefits of this scheme must have education up to class eight.
- Applicants must have passed 8th class.
- Resident of Tamil Naidu for the last 3 years.
- Any adult (18+) can apply for UYEGP, the age limit for special categories is 35 years, and for general categories the age limit is 45 years.
- Apart from this, the annual income of the couple should not exceed Rs 1,50,000.
- The entrepreneur must have residence for 3 years.
- Training is required for the UYEGP loan.
- The recipient must not have received a loan or subsidy from the State/Central Government to apply for UYEGP.
- Applicants should not have taken any type of loan before.

Procedure to Apply under UYEGP Scheme
All those citizens who want to apply under Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Program (UYEGP) can apply under this scheme by following the following procedure:-
- First of all you have to go to the official website of Tamil Nadu UYEGP Scheme, after this the homepage of the website will open in front of you.
- On the homepage of the website, you have to select the option of UYEGP, after this the next page will open in front of you.
- On this page you have to click on the option of Apply Online, then you have to click on the option of New Application.
- Now you will be shown the Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Program application form, the applicant has to provide basic information about the entrepreneur as well as his/her email address and educational background
- Then the scanned photographs have to be uploaded, which are of the exact size demanded by the website. You have to provide information about the line of activity, category of enterprise, address where the activities will commence and the project outlay.
- After filling the information, you can see the list of documents that need to be uploaded, click on the button saying “Proceed” to proceed with the application. When you submit your application, you will receive an Application ID.
- Then under Apply Online in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department, select Upload Documents, give Application ID and click on the Submit button, you can send all the files.
- Click “Submit” and your form will be submitted. Now the officials will investigate, verify and inform you further.
- If accepted, you will get a call for an interview. If the applicant performs well in the interview, the bank will be told that the loan should be approved.
- The loan will be approved by the bank. Anyone who wants to attend the EDP training will receive a letter asking them to come.
- You must send your EDP training certificate. The affidavit should be typed on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs 20/- and signed by a notary public. The affidavit should be given to the bank along with a copy of the rental or lease agreement when the loan is approved.
- You will then receive an EDP letter for training, and you will be required to attend those training sessions. Later you will also get a certificate of training, then submit the certification to the bank, and the loan will be disbursed.
