Objective of Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme
The main objective of the Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme (CMEGP) 2024 launched by the Maharashtra State Government is to establish 1 lakh micro and small enterprises in the state in the next five years. Through this program employment opportunities will be generated in the state. The Government of Maharashtra has set a target of setting up a total of 10000 enterprises in the state through this scheme. District wise targets will be distributed to the Directorate of Industries agencies to achieve this target set by the state government. - The maximum cost of the project unit admissible under the manufacturing sector should be Rs 50 lakh only. If the actual cost of the project is more than the prescribed limit and the applicant wrongly wants to become eligible under the scheme, then that project will not be considered.
- The maximum cost of the project allowed under the service sector is Rs.10 lakh.
- Under this program, the contribution of the beneficiary in the projects has been fixed from 5% to 10% of the project cost according to their categories and the balance amount of the total project cost will be provided by the bank in the form of a term loan.

CMEGP Monitoring

Bank Finance under Chief Minister Employment Generation Program
- Under this, loans will be sanctioned up to 95% of the project cost in case of special category and up to 90% of the project cost in case of bank general category.
- Under the Chief Minister Employment Generation Program (CMEGP) 2024, the term loan disbursement will be done phase wise or once according to the nature of the project.

Eligibility Criteria
- The age of the applicant should be between 18 to 45 years to get the benefits from this program.
- If the applicant belongs to a special category, such as: – SC / ST / Women / Ex-servicemen / Disabled etc., then they are given an age relaxation of 5 years.
- Applicants must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra State. If the applicant was born outside Maharashtra, then it will be mandatory for them to have a domicile certificate.
- No income limit has been fixed for getting benefits under this scheme of Maharashtra State Government.
- Applicants whose project units cost is between 10 lakhs to 25 lakhs, their educational criteria should be minimum 7th standard.
