In the state of Tamil Nadu, the TN Annal Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme has been announced to be launched on March 20, during the presentation of the 2023-24 budget of Tamil Nadu by the state finance minister in the state assembly. Objectives of Annal Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme
The main objective of TN Annal Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme is the economic development of the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe citizens of the state. A budget of about Rs 100 crore has been earmarked by the state government during the announcement of the budget for the financial year 2023-2024. Additionally, entrepreneurs from SC and ST groups will be easily supported through this budget under the Annal Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme. Benefits of Annal Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme
- The Annal Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme, launched by the State Finance Minister, will be operated by the MSME Department on May 12.
- Through this scheme 35% capital subsidy up to Rs 1.5 crore and 6% interest subsidy for starting a new manufacturing, service or business operation or expanding an existing one will be provided to all the beneficiaries of the state.
- Under this, the approved working capital of the project will be eligible for interest subsidy for a maximum of two years.
- The state government has not prescribed any kind of educational requirement under this scheme, along with this, the age of all the applicants should be less than 55 years.
- Capital subsidy will exist as per the requirements of the Government for the entire project cost including investment in land (up to 20% of the total project cost), equipment and machinery.
- In addition, a retired banker will be selected for each district to serve as a credit mentor.
- On the contrary, a State Level Steering Committee will be set up to oversee the operation of the program on a quarterly basis.
- Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute also provided training to the selected recipients through TN Annal Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme.
