Karnataka Skill Connect Portal 2024
Karnataka Skill Connect Portal has been started by the Government of Karnataka on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day in its state. About 55 percent of the citizens of Karnataka state are of working age, out of which more than 1.18 crore citizens in the age group of 20-29 years are present in the state. Objective of Karnataka Skill Connect Portal
The main objective of Karnataka Skill Connect Portal (KSCP) is to provide training and job opportunities to all the interested citizens, its main objective is to transform Karnataka State from IT Capital to Skill Capital State. Creating sector-specific employment on the Skill Connect Portal is emphasized by the state government, through partnership with various organizations, after which training is provided to all the citizens of the state to get employment through it and with this Employment opportunities are also provided by them to those citizens. Benefits and Features of Karnataka Skill Connect Portal
- Under this, when the Karnataka Skill Connect Portal was being started, at that time five Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed.
- The MoUs that were signed at the launch of the portal are as follows, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) Infosys, Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) and National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Government Tool Rooms and Training Centers (GTTCs) and agreement between Toyota Kirloskar, ITI etc.
- More than 20,000 candidates will be linked to companies through massive job fairs under the “Serving Udyog (Jobs for All)” program, in contrast to job seekers in virtual job fairs through the Karnataka Skill Connect Portal (KSCP). Efforts are made to connect with employers.
- Those students, who are getting necessary and in-demand skill training, are preparing their future for the progress of the state of Karnataka.
- Through this portal, assistance can also be given in the development of industries.
- In addition, it also includes training, driving training from the police department for prisoners, and achieving self-employment and self-reliance, and with regard to future skills, as part of the talent acceleration programme, to the final year BE/BCA students in Information Technology and Biotechnology. Future skill training from technology departments, solid waste management from Panchayat Raj department etc. will be provided.
- The skill training will be provided under this portal by the Department of Higher Education, Department of Health and Family Welfare, and Department of Primary and Secondary Education under SIDAC, Department of Agriculture.
- Under the Skill Connect Portal, there will be a greater emphasis on creating the capabilities of the future with organizations including Robots, Data Analytics and Internet of Things, Learning Management System (LMS) and Artificial Intelligence.
- About 150 ITIs have been converted into technology hubs under the portal and on the contrary, a total of 150 ITI colleges are being developed in the state by the Government of Karnataka at a cost of about Rs.4500 crores. 23 futuristic skill development courses have been done in areas like Robotics, IoT and Artificial Intelligence.
