Procedure to Login to Passport Seva

Citizens who want to access the Passport Seva website can access the Passport Seva website by following the following procedure:-

  • First of all, you have to go to the official website of Passport Seva, after that the homepage of the website will open in front of you.

  • On the homepage of the website, you have to click on the option of Existing User Login, after that the next page will open in front of you.
  • Here you have to login by entering login id and password, under this if you are using the service for the first time, you have to register.
  • After this you have to create an account. To register, follow the instructions given below. To register under this, you have to click on the option of Register Now.
  • Now you have to enter your login information, after that you have to click on the option of “Register”, after entering the captcha code.

Select Application Type

On logging in the applicant citizens have to choose one of the following services:-

  • Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport
  • Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
  • Diplomatic Passport / Official Passport

Fill the Application Form

Interested applicants can fill the application form both online and offline, under this the process of filling the offline application is as follows:-

  • First of all, you have to click on the given link to get the application form in soft copy, you will see the link for the electronic version of the upcoming forms.
  • Now depending on the type of application, you have to download the appropriate forms:-
    • fresh/reissued
    • police clearance certificate
    • Diplomatic / Official
    • identity proof
  • Then you have to fill the online application form completely, and after that you have to click on the option of “Upload e-Form”.
  • After this you have to upload the completed application, there are also online application forms available for completion and submission.
  • As the process could potentially be partially started and completed later, it is recommended to double-check the form before emailing it.
  • Also now you have to make an appointment, then pay and then book it.

Once you have filled the application form then you have to pay the application fee, applicants have to submit their application and other required documents to your nearest service office. In this office you can pay the fee online or in person, after that you have to take an appointment at Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or concerned passport office. Under this, any of the following approaches can be used for taking appointments:-

  • First of all, you have to go to the applicant home tab and click on the option of View Saved/Submitted Applications.
  • After this you will see the information of the filled application form, in this you have to select the ARN of the form you have just sent.
  • Now from the list of options, you have to select “Make Payment & Book Appointment”.
  • Then you have to choose one of the two payment options from the two methods offered.

Note:- Online fee is same as passport fee while paying for standard tatkal appointment, balance payment should be made on the day of payment appointment at PSK. Additionally, Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or SBI Bank Challan can be used by the applicants to make the online payment.

Once the application fee is successfully paid by the applicant, then the payment status can be tracked by the applicants through the website. Along with this, a follow up email is also sent to the applicants after making the payment.

  • You have to bring the challan to the SBI branch and make the required cash payment there, ‘’This can be done only after three hours of generation of the 85 day challan.’’
  • The receiving bank staff will then be asked for a copy of the challan.
  • Under this, the ARN information given on the challan is verified by the bank in two working days.

Scheduling the Appointment

All those citizens who want to take an appointment can do so by following the following procedure:-

  • First of all, you have to go to the ‘Pay and Schedule Appointment’ page, after that you have to select the PSK of your choice.
  • Now you have to choose a time frame by which the work is done for you from the list of available dates.
  • Applicants have to select a PSK based on the available dates there, after that you have to enter the captcha code.
  • In the next step select ‘Pay and book the appointment’, information about the application including ARN, name, application type, required payment amount, contact information and appointment date will be displayed in front of you.
  • Under this, if you want to make online payment, then the payment will be sent by you to the gateway.

After your payment is successfully processed, an appointment number and confirmation will be received by the applicant. Under this, SMS will also be used for information sharing. Now you have to prepare a printed copy of the Application Receipt, at present SMS is recognized by all PSKs as valid appointment confirmation. Under this application, more than one payment is made for the same appointment for ARN, in which case the remaining amount will be refunded by the RPO. Passport appointments can be postponed twice within a calendar year after the initial appointment. On the contrary, if the applicant person comes late, then in this situation the applicant cannot postpone the appointment.

How to Apply Online for Official Passport or Diplomatic Passport

Diplomatic or official passports are issued to people with diplomatic status, as opposed to those sent abroad by the central government on official business.   • Here you have to fill the form with reliable information, now you have to validate it, after that you have to select the option of save.
  • After this you have to click on the option of Register Now from the homepage, now you have to log in using your registered ID.
  • Now you have to click on the option of upload e-form and select the XML file created in step 4. Now you have to click on the option of Make Payment and Schedule Appointment.
  • Then you have debit or credit cards, SBI challan, internet banking services of affiliated banks and all other acceptable forms of payment.
  • After that you have to choose the option of print application receipt, on the day of your appointment you have to visit the Regional Passport Office or Passport Seva Kendra along with your original documents.
