Chenetha Mitra Scheme has been started by the Government of Telangana to provide benefits to the handloom workers of the state. The launch of the scheme was announced by Textiles and Looms Minister Katy Rama Rao on August 7, on the occasion of National Handloom Day. This scheme is welfare for all the weavers of the state, about 40% subsidy will be provided by the state government to the handloom workers on their raw material cost through this scheme. Under this program 10% subsidy as well as the benefit of funding is also provided by the central government, an amount of Rs.3000 is provided to all the eligible applicants by the state government through Telangana Chenetha Mitra Scheme.
