CM Siddaramaiah has announced the launch of the Karnataka Gig Workers Insurance Scheme on July 7 to provide benefits to the citizens delivering the e-commerce company of the state of Karnataka. Through this scheme, 4 lakh insurance coverage will be provided by the government to the delivery boys of the state for online shopping. Any eligible citizen working for an online retailer like Zomato, Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy etc. in the state will be provided a benefit of 2 lakhs under life insurance and 2 lakhs under accident insurance through the Karnataka Gig Workers Insurance Scheme by the state government of Karnataka. The main objective of the Karnataka Gig Workers Insurance Scheme is to provide insurance benefits to the gig workers of the state. This scheme has been specially launched to provide support to the delivery boys of Amazon Zomato and Flipkart to lead a healthy life. The state government will provide the facility of coverage for both life and accident insurance through the Karnataka Gig Workers Insurance Scheme to all the eligible workers of the state.
