Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana has been started by the Department of Science and Technology of the Central Government, which is a fellowship scheme. Through this scheme, students pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science stream will be encouraged to pursue a career in research. Under this scheme started by the central government, financial assistance up to Rs 7000 will be provided to the selected students in the form of scholarship. Objectives of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

The main objective of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana started by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India is to encourage the students of science stream to make a career in research while promoting science education. Marking Scheme

The question paper of Aptitude Test under Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) will be of hundred marks.

In part 1

Candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer
Along with this, 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer given by the candidates.

In part 2

Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for each correct answer
In addition, 0.5 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer given by the candidates.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Terms and Conditions

Such interested students of science subjects who want to apply to get the benefits under Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) started by the Government of India, they will be required to fulfill the following terms and conditions set by the government:-

Through this scheme run by the central government, such students will not be benefited, who are already getting the benefits of any other scholarship or grant.
The fellowship under this scheme is available only to such students who have enrolled in a regular UG program in a Basic Science course in any college or institute of a recognized university of the country.
Candidates can download the admit card for Student Aptitude Test from the official website from 2nd week of October.
Along with this, an expanded merit list of around 5,000 candidates will also be prepared along with the list of beneficiary fellows.
Apart from this, the government will provide the rank certificate to the candidates in the expanded list.
Expanded list candidates will not be considered eligible for scholarships and fellowships under Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY).

Benefits and Features of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

This scheme started by the Department of Science and Technology of the Central Government is basically a fellowship program.
Through this scheme of the central government, science education is promoted and students are also encouraged to choose basic science courses and research as a career.
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is a scheme funded by the central government, under which talented motivated students in research are identified and guided to make a career in scientific research.
Under this scheme, an amount of up to Rs 7000 is provided to the beneficiary students in the form of scholarship along with a contingency grant.
Interested students pursuing education in class 12th, graduation and post graduation in science stream can apply for the fellowship received under this scheme.
Under this scheme of the Central Government, contingency grants and fellowships are provided to the selected students up to pre-PhD level including summer camps to be organized in reputed research and educational institutions.
The field of research and development is also promoted through this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for KVPY Application

Stream SA: 10th class passed with 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects and applicants who have taken admission in 11th class are eligible to apply for Aptitude Test. The fellowship will be eligible only if they take admission in B.Sc./ B.S./ B.Stat./ B.Math./ Int. MSc / Int. M / s. After securing 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in 12th board examination from Science subjects.
Stream SX: Applicants who are in 12th class with Physics/Chemistry/Math and Biology as subject B.Sc./BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int. MSc / Int. M / s. courses are also eligible to apply for the qualifying examination. Conditionally the applicant must have secured 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the 10th class board examination. Fellowship will be available only when they take admission in B.Sc./ B.S./ B.Stat./ B.Math./ Int. MSc / Int. M / s. After securing 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in 12th board examination.
Stream SB: Students who are in first year in B.Sc./BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int. MSc / Int. M / s. And securing 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in 12th Board Exam are also eligible to apply.
Applicants must be a PWD/ SC/ ST candidate.
