Objectives of ISRO Internship & Student Project Trainee Scheme 2024

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has initiated the ISRO Internship & Student Project Trainee Scheme to foster student talent in space science and technology nationwide. Who Can Apply?

Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and PhD students studying Science/Technology from recognized institutions in India and abroad can apply for the Internship Scheme. The internship lasts for a maximum of 45 days, allowing students to gain valuable hands-on experience in advanced space research.

  • No money is given for participating.
  • Accommodation isn’t included, but you might be able to stay in a guest house/hostel for a fee.
  • You’ll get a certificate if you finish your project or internship well.

Prior to submitting an application for the ISRO Internship & Student Project Trainee Scheme 2024, confirm that you meet all of the requirements listed below: 

Internship Scheme

  • The internship is available to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students studying science or technology subjects from a recognized university or institution in India or abroad, or those who have completed their degree within six months of applying.
  • The internship period will not exceed 45 days.
  • Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.32 on a scale of 10.

Student Project Trainee Scheme

The following group of students with the required educational background will have the opportunity in offline mode, as stated below: –

Selection Procedure under ISRO Internship & Student Project Trainee Scheme

  • Students will be assigned internships or projects based on how well their studies align with the work at the Centre/Unit and the availability of projects, expertise, and facilities.
  • Each application will undergo review by the relevant Centre/Unit according to established guidelines.

Benefits of ISRO Internship & Student Project Trainee Scheme

  • Under ISRO Internship & Student Project Trainee Scheme upon completing their projects and internships and submitting assignment reports for evaluation, project interns and trainees will receive certificates from their respective division heads.
  • Project trainees and interns are restricted to accessing only unclassified areas of Department of Space and ISRO laboratories and facilities.
  • Additionally Project trainees and interns must obtain permission from the Centres/Units before releasing documents or reports through external agents regarding work completed at Department of Space/ISRO Centres/Units.
  • Accommodation won’t be provided during internships at DoS/ISRO Centres/Units. However, guest house/hostel options may be available for a fee or shared living quarters depending on availability, with the same fees applying to employees. Canteen facilities will be available to students like regular employees.
  • ISRO Internship & Student Project Trainee Scheme 2024 will not receive any financial assistance, compensation, or stipend for their participation in the program.
