Agneepath Scheme 2024 (अग्निवीर योजना)
Agneepath Scheme 2024 has been started by the Union Ministry of Defense, through which young citizens of the country will be provided an opportunity to join the Indian Defense Forces. The youth selected under the Agneepath Scheme will be known as “Agneeveer”. The selected Agneeveer will have to serve a total of four years in the Indian Army, Navy or Air Force, for which they will be provided a good financial package in the form of salary. Along with this, Agneeveer will be decommissioned after their tenure of four years. Under this scheme of the central government, about 45,000 to 50,000 youth will be recruited every year, who will be recruited for a service period of only four years. Objectives of Agneepath Scheme
Agneepath Army Recruitment Scheme is a type of army recruitment program started by the central government, the main objective of which is to provide opportunity to the young citizens of the country to join the defense forces. Through this scheme, a target has been set to reduce the average age of defense forces from 32 years to 26 years in the coming years. Along with this, under Agneepath Scheme 2024, Agneeveer will be retired on completion of their four years of service. No financial assistance will be provided in the form of pension to the retired Agniveer, but instead of pension, they will be given a lump sum amount from the service fund. Agneepath Army Recruitment Scheme Selection Procedure
- Under the Agneepath Scheme 2024 started by the Ministry of Defense, the recruitment of Agneeveer will be done in the same way as the recruitment of soldiers in the defense forces in normal condition.
- First of all notification will be issued by the Indian Armed Forces for the recruitment of Agniveer. Interested young citizens have to apply according to this notification.
- After that the young candidates will have to appear in the written test. If the written test is passed by the young candidates then their physical test, literacy etc. will be done.
- Merit list will be prepared on the basis of written test, physical test, literacy etc given by the candidates through which Agneeveer will be appointed in Defense Forces.
Some important things related to the service fund package
- Agniveer will be given a service fund pack of Rs 10.04 lakh after the completion of 4 years. In this, equal contribution of the government and Agnivero will be made.
- If Agniveer is recruited on a permanent basis, then in such a situation Agniveer will be given the contribution amount given by him.
- If Agniveer rejoins before the completion of the period of 4 years. Even then they will be given the contribution amount deposited by them.
- Under the Agniveer Recruitment Scheme, the service fund package is income tax exempt.
- Under this scheme, no Agniveer will be given Dearness Allowance and Military Service Pay.
- Only Risk and Hardship, Ration, Dress, Travel Allowance etc. will be provided to Agniveers.
- If Agniveer takes admission in the army after passing 10th standard, then after completion of 4 years, Agniveer will be given a certificate of passing class 12th.
Required Terms and Conditions for Air Force Agneepath Recruitment
- While filling the form under the Agniveer Recruitment Scheme, the applicant will be allowed to enter five choices of the examination center.
- Under this scheme, no request will be accepted to change the date of the Examination Center Selection Test.
- Those applicants who do not come to appear for the exam on the scheduled date for any reason, then their exam will not be taken.
- The application form must be filled completely and submitted, otherwise the form will not be accepted.
- Apart from this, those applicants who apply for this scheme more than once. So their application will be rejected.
- The applicant is not allowed to carry any electronic device in the examination hall.
Benefits and Features of Agneepath Scheme
- Under the Agneepath Scheme launched by the Ministry of Defense, young candidates will be provided an opportunity to be recruited in the Defense Department to serve the country.
- Young candidates who are interested to be recruited under this scheme will not need to appear in any type of entrance test.
- To be recruited under this scheme launched by the Central Government, it will be mandatory for young citizens to meet all the medical criteria set by the Defense Forces.
- Through this scheme selected candidates will be able to serve in the Indian Army, Navy or Air Force.
- Under this scheme started by the Ministry of Defense, only young citizens of the country from the age of 17.5 years to 21 years will be considered eligible for application.
- Young candidates selected under this scheme will be called as Agneeveer and they will have to serve in the Defense Forces for a total period of 4 years.
- Through the Agneepath Army Recruitment Scheme, all necessary training will also be provided to the Agniveer to become professional soldiers.
- Along with this, Agniveer will be retired after their service tenure of four years and they will be given a lump sum amount by the Service Fund Commission.
- An amount of Rs 11.7 lakh will be provided to the Agniveer as a lump sum amount which will be completely tax free.
- Agniveers will not be entitled for any kind of pension under this scheme.
- Under this scheme of the Government of India, the retired Agniveer will be honored with certificates and awards for their tenure.
- Through this scheme, the selected Agniveer will be given a salary of Rs 30000 per month as well as the benefits of all the allowances received by other soldiers.
- Under this scheme, an insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh will also be provided to the Agniveer.
- The amount of insurance cover will be given to the family of the Agniveer in the event of their death.
- Under the Agneepath Scheme, various types of career options will be provided to the retired Agniveer by the Ministry of Defense, with the help of which they can secure their further life.
- Apart from this, the Indian Army can also appoint 25% of the Agniveer as permanent soldiers on completion of their tenure.
- Under this scheme, a target has been set to recruit a total of 46 thousand Agniveer this year.
Eligibility Criteria to apply in Indian Air Force under Agneepath Scheme
Date of Birth:-
- To become Agniveer in the Air Force, the age of the applicant should be minimum 17.5 years and maximum 23 years.
- It is mandatory for the young candidate to be born between 29 December 1999 to 29 June 2005.
Educational Qualifications:-
- Young candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in Science subject in class 12th and minimum 50% marks in English subject.
- If the applicant has done a Diploma course of 3 years in Engineering, then it will be considered mandatory for them to get minimum 50% marks (Minimum 50% marks in English is required).
- Applicants must have passed a vocational course with a non vocational subject with at least 50% marks (Minimum 50% marks in English is mandatory).
- If the applicant has passed 12th class from other subjects, they will be required to pass with minimum 50% marks (it is mandatory to get minimum 50% marks in English).
- If the professional course has been done by the applicant for 2 years, they must have secured at least 50% marks (Minimum 50% marks in English is mandatory)
Medical Standards:-
- Length:- Minimum 152.5 cms
- Chest:- Minimum 5 cms
- Weight :- According to age and height
- Hearing Ability:- Candidate should have normal hearing ability
- Dental:- Candidate should have minimum 14 dental points

- The applicant should not have any kind of chronic, medical or surgical disability.
- Along with this, the candidate will be required to be physically and mentally fit.
- Such applicants who have undergone corneal surgery will not be considered eligible to apply under this scheme.
- Consumption of Narcotics Drugs:- Young candidates should not consume any kind of Narcotic Drugs.
- Body Tattoo:-
- The applicant should not have any permanent tattoo on his body.
- Tattoos will be allowed only to the Sikh community and citizens living in tribal areas.
