Snehaloy Housing Scheme
This scheme has been started by the state government to fulfill the dream of the citizens of the state to have their own housing. Addressing a rally, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that the state government is going to provide housing to all those families who do not have their own houses under the West Bengal Snehaloy Housing Scheme. Mamata Banerjee has also pointed out that an application for houses was submitted through Didi Ke Bolo portal, which was launched by her a few days back. Under this scheme, the state government has also told that the citizens of the state will get a lot of help and they will all be able to improve their lives. Selection of Beneficiaries
Under the Snehloy Awas Yojana, those families will be included, who have not been able to get the benefits under the housing schemes. Those who could not get the benefit of any housing scheme before, they can apply under this scheme. For application the District Magistrate of the State shall collect the Bank details, land details and personal details in the format as per Annexure-A to the Housing Department along with a soft copy with hard copy in his original signature to the Housing Department. - Thereafter the Housing Department will take further administrative action, for which it will obtain the details from the District Magistrate, then grant approval and directly release the funds to the District Magistrate for release into the beneficiary’s account by bank transfer/RTGS through IFMS.
- The details of bank accounts and land availability are to be collected by the District Magistrate as per the format.
Provision of Land
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a very commendable scheme for the poor people, under which financially weak and backward people will be provided their houses. He named this scheme as Snehloy Awas Yojana 2024. 1.20 lakh will be provided to all the beneficiaries through this scheme to build a house. Those who have taken the benefit of any other housing scheme of the state government are not eligible for this scheme. The implementation of the scheme will be done on the beneficiary’s land, such as his own land, any leased land, or on which the beneficiary family belongs. have a legal right. Unit Cost of Residential Units
- In plain areas – Rs. 1,20,000/- per unit.
- In hilly and Sundarban areas:- Rs 1,30,000/- per unit.
Benefits of WB Snehaloy Housing Scheme
- Through WB Snehaloy Housing Scheme, it will help to overcome the housing problem in different areas.
- As per the decision of the Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee of WB, Rs 1.20 lakh will be given to the beneficiaries of WB Snehaloy Housing Scheme.
- The above scheme and its operation will be totally sponsored by the Government of West Bengal.
- West Bengal Snehaloy Housing Scheme will provide permanent accommodation at reasonable rate to the candidates from poor section of the society.
- Financial help will be given to the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
- Under the scheme, the state government will give financial help to poor families in two installments in a year.
- After the successful implementation of this Scheme, the Chief Minister of the state has said that financial help will be offered to about 25000 beneficiaries so that they can buy new houses.
Eligibility Criteria of Snehaloy Housing Scheme
If you want to get benefits under this Scheme then you have to fulfill the below given eligible criteria.
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of the state to get the benefits under the West Bengal Snehaloy Housing Scheme.
- The applicant applying for Snehaloy Housing Scheme should not be a beneficiary under any other housing scheme in West Bengal.
- To apply under this scheme, he should belong to the economically weaker section category and the person or family must have registered their complaint on Didi Ke Bolo Portal.
