Objective of Telangana Crop Loan Waiver Scheme
The main objective of the Crop Loan Waiver Scheme launched by the Chief Minister of Telangana State K Chandrashekhar Rao is to benefit such farmers of the state who are unable to return the agricultural loans taken by them. Under this scheme, if the farmers of the state are unable to return the agricultural loan up to Rs. 1 lakh, their loan will be waived off by the state government. With this step of the state government, the beneficiary farmers will be able to become free from the burden of agricultural loans taken by them and will be able to become strong and self-reliant by joining the farming activities again. Benefits and Features of Crop Loan Waiver Scheme
- Crop Loan Waiver Scheme started by the Telangana State Government, under which the farmers of the state are benefitted.
- Through this scheme of the state government, such farmers of Telangana state are benefited who are financially weak and unable to repay the agricultural loans taken by them.
- Under this scheme, farmers will be given loan waiver up to Rs 1 lakh by the state government.
- This loan waiver of one lakh rupees taken as crop loan to the beneficiary farmers will be provided in five phases.
- In the first phase, an amount of Rs 25,000 will be waived off crop loan by the state government.
- Along with this, the remaining amount from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh will be made available for four years in the next four phases.
- Under the Telangana Crop Loan Waiver Scheme, the state government had allocated a total budget of Rs 1,198 crore for the first phase.
- Simultaneously, a budget of Rs 24,738 crore has been approved for the next four phases.
- Telangana State Government had earmarked a total budget of Rs 6,225 crore for the first phase of this scheme.
