Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana 2024
All those students of Odisha state who want to get higher education, and due to their weak economic condition, they are unable to get education. Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana has been started by the Chief Minister of Odisha Mr. Naveen Patnaik to provide benefits to all those students. Through this scheme, education loans up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided by the state government to the eligible students at only 1% interest rate, the rest of the interest will be paid by the Higher Education Department under this scheme. Objectives of Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana
The main objective of Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana (KSSY) is to provide education loans to the students of the state. Through this scheme, loans will be provided to such students of the state, who want to get higher education, and are unable to get higher education due to their weak economic condition. Apart from this, if the loan amount under Odisha Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana 2024 is up to Rs 7.5 lakh, then the repayment period of the loan is 10 years. On the contrary, if a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh is obtained by the students, then in this case the loan will be repaid for 15 years. Benefits and Features of Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana (KSSY)
- Odisha Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana 2024 has been started by Odisha Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik to provide educational benefits to the students of the state.
- This scheme was started on June 27, 2016 by the Chief Minister of the state for all such students of the state who want to get higher education and are unable to get education due to their weak economic condition.
- Educational loans up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided by the Government of Odisha as financial assistance to the students of the state through this scheme.
- Apart from this, all the beneficiaries will have to pay only 1% interest rate on the loan obtained through this scheme.
- All the courses like medical, engineering, law, management etc. will also be covered under this scheme by the state government.
- The remaining interest in the loan received under the Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana 2024 will be paid by the Higher Education Department of the Government of Odisha.
- Under this, if a loan of up to Rs 7.5 lakh is obtained by the student, then in this situation the repayment period of the loan will be fixed for 10 years.
- On the contrary, if a loan of Rs 10 lakh is obtained by the student, then in this case a period of 15 years will be provided for repayment.
- Educational loans can be obtained by all eligible and deserving students of the state under this scheme through scheduled banks.
- Only the domicile of Odisha can apply under this scheme, in addition to this, the interest rate has been set at zero for the students during the moratorium period.
- Apart from this, such students want to get the benefit of this scheme, the annual family income of their family should be less than Rs.600000, only then they will be given the benefit of this scheme.
Interest Subvention During the Moratorium Period
The moratorium period is a time period due to which the borrower is not bound to make any repayment of the loan. During this period no borrower is required to make any payment of EMI. This is basically called waiting period, it includes one year including the duration of the course, moratorium period for educational loans. After the completion of the course, students are provided financial assistance under this scheme by the government after deducting the interest of repayment and moratorium period.
Eligibility of Odisha Kalinga Sikhya Sathi Yojana
- Citizens desirous of getting the benefits of this scheme should be a permanent resident of Odisha.
- The annual family income of the applicant student’s family should not exceed 6 lakhs per annum.
- The benefit of the similar scheme of the Central or State Government is not being received by the applicant person.
- The terms and conditions of the loan will be as per the individual schedule banks’ norms
- In addition, the Bank reserves the right to process loan applications.

- On the homepage of the website, you have to click on the option of Kalinga Sikh Sathi, after that you have to click on the option of Click Here to Apply.
- Now you have to click on the option of register, after that a new page will appear in front of you.
- Here you have to enter the details of the asked information like First name, Middle name, Surname, Mobile number, Email ID, Password, Captcha code etc.
