YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme

AP YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme has been started under the AP Disha Act implemented by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Hon’ble YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy in the year 2019. Under the YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme, nutritious food is provided to all such pregnant women, lactating mothers and babies of the state who belong to BPL families or weaker economic class. Objective of AP Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme

The main objective of the YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme, run by the Women and Child Development Authority, Andhra Pradesh, is to provide nutritious food to pregnant, lactating women and children belonging to the weaker sections of the state. Through the facility of nutritious food provided under this scheme, the beneficiary women and children will be able to get proper amounts of nutrition, due to which women will be free from the risk of anemia and children will be able to develop properly. Benefits and Features of AP YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme

  • YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme has been launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, under which tribal pregnant, lactating women and young children of the state are benefitted.
  • Through this scheme, all eligible pregnant women, lactating women and newborns in the age group of six months to three years are provided a proper nutritious diet to free them from the complications of malnutrition.
  • Under this welfare scheme, hot cooked mid-day meals and take-home rations are provided to the beneficiaries by the state government to provide them with healthy, nutritious food.
  • The take home ration is made available to the beneficiaries by the state government through home delivery on a monthly basis.
  • The Andhra Pradesh government has allocated a total budget of Rs 308 crore for the smooth operation of the AP Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme, which is monitored by the Women Development and Child Welfare Department of the state government.
  • Under this scheme, a target has been set to benefit about 3 lakh ancestral women and children of the state through the data collected by about 8,320 Anganwadi centers set up in 77 ancestral mandals.
  • Through this scheme launched by Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy, financial assistance of Rs 1100 per month is provided to the beneficiary women for the supply of nutritious food.
  • A total of Rs 553 per month is provided as financial assistance for providing nutritious food to the beneficiary young children in the ancestral areas.
  • Under this scheme, eggs and milk are provided to children in the age group of 3 to 6 years for a nutritious diet.
  • Along with this, under the AP YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme, the facility of education and study in English medium is provided to the children at Anganwadi centers.

Eligibility Criteria for YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme

To avail the benefits under any type of scheme run by the government, candidates are required to fulfill certain important eligibility criteria related to that scheme. Similarly, such interested citizens who want to get benefits under the AP YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme launched by the Andhra Pradesh State Government, it will be mandatory for them to fulfill the following eligibility criteria set by the State Government:-

  • To apply under AP Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme, the candidate should be a permanent female citizen of Andhra Pradesh state.
  • Under this scheme, only pregnant women and lactating women of the state will be considered eligible to apply.
  • Applicants pregnant or lactating women must belong to the tribal community of the state.
  • Under this scheme, all such pregnant and lactating women of Andhra Pradesh who belong to APL, BPL, backward class or low income group will also be considered eligible to apply.
  • Along with this, children in the age group of 6 months to 72 months will also be benefited under this scheme.

Nomination Procedure for AP Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme

YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme is implemented by various authorities and units, such as:- Anganwadi workers, ITDA District Women and Children and Women’s Development Authority. To help such eligible and interested women of Andhra Pradesh who want to enroll themselves to get the benefits under this scheme launched by the state government, the enrollment process is given below in a step-by-step guide:-

  • Firstly, the identification and registration of eligible women and young children is done by the Anganwadi workers at the primary level. The enrollment of beneficiaries is done as per the data collected by the Anganwadi workers.
  • Under the YSR Sampoorna Poshana Plus Scheme by Anganwadi workers, all eligible pregnant women, lactating mothers as well as children in the age group of 6 months to 72 months i.e. 6 years are registered.
  • The applicant’s details are then entered in the Common Application Software (CAS), through which the service delivery is monitored.
  • The growth rate (height and weight) of each beneficiary young child is monitored every month by the Anganwadi workers.
  • Along with this, monitoring of the weight of the beneficiary pregnant women is also done regularly at the centers by the Anganwadi workers.
  • The data of beneficiary pregnant women and children collected at Anganwadi centers is stored in CAS.
  • Anganwadi workers or supervisors will submit the list of SUM, SAM or MAM children to ASHA, ANM or MO (PHC).
  • In addition, the food and ration provided to the beneficiaries under this welfare scheme are also delivered to the homes of the beneficiaries by the Anganwadi workers.
  • Anganwadi workers will also provide education to the beneficiary women on how to use the provided protein, energy based take-home ration without distributing it among family members.
